About The Dance Pro Program
Registration for the March 2025 Session Has Begun

Dance Pro is an intensive international training program hosted by Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, serving as a bridge to the professional dance world and conducted under the guidance of Rami Be’er, the company’s Artistic Director and Choregrapher.

The 4-month program provides a comprehensive and unique set of tools, offering knowledge and guidance from leading dance teachers, choreographers and professional dancers. In addition to improving technique, learning repertoire, and personal creation, participants will enhance their skills in video editing, music editing, and stage lighting. They will receive tools to help them reach professional companies and frameworks both in Israel and abroad. Participants will also take part in an introductory workshop to the Ilan Lev Method and receive guidance on writing resumes, applying for scholarships, and contacting dance companies and dance organizations in Israel and around the world. Each dancer will receive a personal audition video and professional photos upon completion of the program.

Dance Pro is suitable for dancers and dance students ages 18-30 who have completed various dance programs, and offers a continuous and intensive training framework starting in March 2025 thru the end of June 2025. The programs takes place at the company’s home at the International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton in the beatiful Western Galilee reagion of northern Israel, in a campus setting, alongside and under the guidance of the company’s dancers, and includes extracurricular, social, and travel activities or exploring the land of Israel and meeting its colorful, diverse, and historic heritage, cuisine, and peoplehood.

The program will take place subject to the security situation.



Admission Requirements

Admission is based on the submission of a resume and a recorded audition video. Resumes should be sent to the email: [email protected]

Recorded Audition

Follow the preparation and submission instructions detailed at the bottom of the page. Only students with a suitable background will be able to participate in the program. Acceptance into the program is conditional on sound physical and mental health and requires signing a health declaration.

Who Should Apply

  • Dancers aiming to join professional dance companies in Israel and abroad.
  • Dance students seeking to advance their skills and professional opportunities.
  • Dancers in transition stages looking for an intensive and structured training program.  This means post high school or in a ‘gap year’ stage between high school and university or using this as a study abroad program during college or university while seeking a BA or BFA.  For post BA/BFA dance students looking to a springboard program to their next chapter.
  • Dancers wishing to develop in the field of creation/composition.

Technique and Repertoire

  • Learning the repertoire of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and its unique movement language.
  • Learning repertoire of the Cullberg Ballet by Choreographer Mats Ek
  • Classical ballet classes

  • Introduction and work with choreographers and top teachers in Israel

Personal Creation

  • Access to the company’s studios for personal work and creation after the day’s activities and on weekends
  • Creating a personal solo with professional guidance by a company dancer
  • Evening of personal creations

Guidance

  • The program is supervised by Rami Be’er, the Artistic Director and Choreographer of Kibbutz Contemproary Dance Company.
  • The program includes personal guidance for each participant by a dancer from the company for the personal solo creation, starting from the second month until the end of the program.

New in the Program – Ilan Lev Method Introductory Workshop

Led by Nimrod Chirurg | Improving human ability and removing functional limitations

An introductory workshop that supports the intensity and complexity of the physical and emotional world of dancers. The method leads to improved physical and mental capabilities and functions.

This is a workshop that serves as an introduction to the Ilan Lev Method and is also suitable for those who wish to continue in the future to study in the therapist certification course.



Program Setting & Lifestyle

Live and create at the world-renowned International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton alongside the company’s main and second company dancers
Dance Pro participants make up a cohesive group of dance students from all walks of life from across the world; creating a tight-knit group and lifelong bonds.
The program includes a two-day trip to the Dead Sea and the Jerusalem area along with a day trip to the seaside city of Jaffa just outside of Tel Aviv; including a culinary tour of the popular market and a performance

Accommodation and conditions

The dormitory-style accommodation at The International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton allows optimal time and space for learning, experimenting, creating, and rehearsing.
Living and spending time alongside the international community of dancers, along with the unique atmosphere of the kibbutz, offers an extraordinary opportunity to experience a vibrant, full, and dynamic social life.
The living, training, and reherasal spaces are immersed in greenery and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes overlooking the historic Yehiam Fortress, the Mediterranean Sea, and the stunning sites of the Western Galilee.

End Date: June 30, 2025

Program Cost and Payment Schedule

Program Cost: $6,500 USD per participant

This includes a fully equipped kitchenette, furniture, bedding and towels, bathroom and shower, as well as a shared washing machine and dryer.
Participation in the Dance Pro program for 4 months including accommodation in a double room for one person.

Registration Fee: $250 USD is due upon registration.

Second Payment: $3,125 USD by November 1, 2024

Third Payment: $3,125 USD by February 1, 2025

The discrepancy in the program fee for international (non-Israeli) participants is due to the added health insurance fees that must be arranged by Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company for foreign participants.

The course is subject to the security situation and the number of registrants. If the course does not open, the registration fees and payments made for the program will be refunded.

Video Audition
Please send us a 3-minute video showcasing you at your best and demonstrating your technical ability and skills as a dancer. Your video should include: several classical ballet exercises from the barre, center, and corner. Also, please add two exercises from a modern class and an improvisation piece.

VIDEO AUDITION

All interested dancers are welcome to send us a 3-minute video that shows you at your highest level and displays your technical abilities and skills as a dancer. Your video must include a plié, grand battement, jeté, and fondu from the bar and then be sure to also add a pirouette, adagio, petit allegro, and grand allegro from the center. We ask that you also include two exercises from a modern class and end with an improvisation exercise.
