Auditioning for the International Dance Journey Study Abroad Program

The pre-professional Dance Journey study abroad program hosted by Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company has just started a new semester with the opening of our September 2018 program.  We’re ecstatic to welcome 38 dance students and aspiring professionals from across the world who will be living, studying and creating with us for the upcoming semester.

Dance Journey is a 5 and-10 month program that is held at the acclaimed International Dance Village in the historic region of Galilee in Northern Israel and home to both our main and second companies.  The program hosts some of the top dancers from dance universities and dance academies from across the world and offers state-of-the-art dance facilities, elite dance education for dance students aspiring to become professional dancers while also offering a life-changing cultural immersion experience while living on a kibbutz, studying Hebrew and discovering an extraordinary country with a rich history and an exquisite landscape.

The International Dance Village offers a tranquil, nature-lush community of dancers and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.  This is where you’ll spend either a semester or a full academic year studying abroad as a pre-professional dancer and doing so with some of the best dance teachers, dance masters, and choreographers from across the globe.

Acceptance into the program

We regularly hold open auditions for the program in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and other major cities and dance centers, with the upcoming audition to be held in Los Angeles (October 22), Miami (October 26), New York City (November 5).

Auditions will consist of either a ballet or modern class for warm up and are followed by company repertoire. Auditions do not require a preparation of a solo piece of choreography.
