Su Jeong Kim
Recipient of the 2019 Yair Shapira Prize for Excellent in Dance

We’re pleased to announce that our very own, Su Jeong Kim is the recipient of the 2019 Yair Shapira Prize for Excellent in Dance.
Hailing from Seoul, Seoul Korea, Su Jeong has been an integral part of our main company since she joined us in September 2014, following her participation in our pre-professional ‘Dance Journey’ study abroad program.
Su Jeong is a graduate of the M.D. Dept. of Dance (1992) and B.D Dept. of Dance (1996) at Ewha Woman’s University. She had been the backbone of TAM Dance Company (Seoul) which was one of the leading contemporary dance groups in Korea. She was chosen as a new rising artist by Cultural Art Foundation. Choreographer by critics’ choice. Awarded the Grand Prize with the work of “Happy Tears – Episode #1” in 2009 at the Seoul International Choreography Festival.
She has worked as a dancer with Joelle Bouvier, Uri Ivgi, and Johan Greben among others. In parallel to her dancing career, she is also a choreographer, creating original works in Korea and Israel.
