The Journey To The Maybe Island
Idan Amit
A dance theater performance based on the book by Miriam Yalan-Shteklis.
The story is an adventurous tale full of imagination and modern dance, based on melodies from Shteklis’s songs, featuring a transition from the familiar world of reality to a fantastic world.
The boy Danny and his dog Rutz set off on a journey to find the Toy Doctor, who lives on Maybe Island, in order to repair the doll Elisheva. Elisheva is the beloved doll of Danny’s little sister, Ruthie, which Danny broke in a moment of anger. Along the way, they face many challenges and overcome them thanks to strong friendship, sacrifice, self-acceptance, mutual acceptance, discovering new places, and overcoming fears.
The performance is accompanied by the well-known and beloved songs of Miriam Yalan-Shteklis.
