Elie lazar

ballet teacher choreographer with international reputation, Elie Lazar founded and directed the Joffrey Ensemble Dancer, the official company of the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC from 1999-2005, he also founded the Joffrey ballet school satellite in the south in 2001, in 2005 he founded LazarBalletnyc his touring dance company in NYC . In 2007 he was invited to direct the Montgomery Ballet the official ballet company of the capital of Alabama. In 2011 Lazar was asked by Troy university to mount and lead a dance department that offered the first BFA in dance for the state of Alabama.

Lazar was born in Israel and began his ballet training at the age of 17. After his army service as a medic he was the first Israeli to present Israel in a ballet competition Jackson International Ballet Competition. Lazar enjoyed a long career as a principal dancer with the New Jersey Ballet.
